São Paulo, September 2020 - Eurofarma, a 100% Brazilian-owned pharmaceutical multinational company present in 20 countries, continues to implement humanitarian actions to tackle the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. The company has allocated over BRL 1.3 million for the purchase of staple food kits, donated to institutions as suggested by doctors visited by its sales team – a total of 263 healthcare professionals.

Dubbed Prato Cheio, the initiative focuses on helping institutions such as nursing homes and orphanages to overcome the hardships and vulnerabilities of the pandemic. Donations began in late August and will extend through September. Over 23,000 kits will be delivered across Brazil.

History

Since the pandemic was declared, Eurofarma has been mapping demands to help those in need in such a sensitive moment. Such efforts yielded over BRL 29 million allocated basically according to four different action fronts: donation of medicines; purchase and distribution of staple food kits; donation of protective equipment and hand sanitizer gel; as well as cash contributions to health institutions (Hospital São Paulo/UNIFESP and GRAAC).

The initiatives aim to meet the needs of physicians, healthcare facilities and the needy across Brazil, focusing on the municipalities of Itapevi, SP, and Montes Claros, MG, home to the company’s manufacturing plants.
