Eurofarma is the first Brazilian company to migrate to SAP S/4 HANA

São Paulo, February 2019 – Eurofarma, a 100% Brazilian pharmaceutical company, present in 20 Latin American countries, is advancing in digital transformation by migrating from SAP ECC 6.0 to S/4 HANA, a completely new generation of SAP Business Suite. The company is the first in Brazil to carry out a complete conversion to the new platform, characterized by simplifications, efficiency and advanced features.

 

The drugmaker started implementation in 2017 with the creation of the S4Euro project and involved more than 100 professionals with the objective of integrating data and information from all areas into a single system. Overall, there were 16 months  spent in the project, resulting in 28 companies in 13 countries that migrated, 71,000 converted tables and more than 730 training hours offered by 500 employees.

 

The S/4 HANA analyzes local memory data, unlike other systems, which do so on disk, which makes responses faster even with huge amounts of data. According to Daniel Ferreira, manager of Information Technology at Eurofarma, the changes will speed up the pace of innovation at the company, which benefits the entire healthcare market. "This is an important step forward in Eurofarma's digital transformation strategy. With S/4 HANA, we have opened many possibilities to simplify processes and democratize data, generating more efficiency and collaboration among the different areas of the company," he says.

 

Besides storing the company’s complete database, the novelty also makes it possible to cross information quickly, which turns into a powerful tool for integrating internal and external data, thus making the active support for users in real time decision easier.
