With the initiative launched under the Caring Hands campaign, the company encourages sharing messages of affection and respect

São Paulo, April 2020 –  Eurofarma, a Brazilian-based multinational corporation operating in 20 countries across Latin America, launched a campaign to show gratitude to the men and women who are still hard at work, helping, supporting, or donating their time to others, especially at such troubled times, with governments and health departments asking people to stay at home to help contain the spread of Covid-19 (new coronavirus).

Participants can go to https://www.eurofarma.com.br/maosquecuidam to pay their tribute to these people by creating and sharing messages of solidarity, acknowledgment and good ideas in social media. This initiative is part of the Caring Hands project started in 2019, conveying the company’s mission to care for people.

“Just like the healthcare workers, many others who provide essential services, such as truck drivers, garbage collectors and journalists, to name a few, are still hard at work so that most of us can stay home in these times of social isolation. And, since we haven’t interrupted our production activities to make sure the market receives a steady supply of medications, it was important to thank all of these people. The idea came to life out of an internal necessity and grew to honor and inspire a much larger group, promoting empathy and solidarity. Through this space created at Eurofarma’s website and broadly promoted in our social media, people can create and share messages, reaching many others,” said Maria del Pilar Muñoz, Vice President of Sustainability and New Business at Eurofarma.

To send a message, users must fill out a quick registration form and wait for their password to be sent to them. After accessing the tool, users can choose a predefined image or upload a photo. They can then share their virtual cards in social media or send them via email.

About the project

The Caring Hands project was conceived by Eurofarma to honor healthcare workers. The company organized a photo shoot with 20 healthcare workers, photographed by the internationally renowned photograph J.R. Duran.

The initiative resulted in a collection of photographs and testimonials, also featured on the 1,900-square-meter facade of the Eurofarma Industrial Complex in Itapevi. Located just off Castello Branco Highway in the interior of São Paulo, the facility is one of the most modern of its kind in Latin America.

In addition to the photos on open-air display, other J. R. Duran images from the campaign – such as a book already published – and other initiatives will be disseminated through materials, exhibits, and social media channels. The campaign video is also available on the company’s YouTube channel.
