São Paulo, September 2019 – In yet another initiative under the Eurofarma Synapsis acceleration program, whose first edition took place in 2018 to encourage entrepreneurship and foster healthcare innovation in Latin America, Eurofarma is now looking for scaleup companies to help boost industry disruption. Gupy, a forerunner in the application of artificial intelligence for recruitment and selection in Brazil, was chosen to be the company’s official platform.

Its resume assessment system uses machine learning to establish a smart ranking, supporting managers and ensuring more assertive recruiting. “Instead of receiving multiple resumes by email, managers have access to information on job openings and candidates on a single page, which enables them to appraise and flag the most suitable profiles. Artificial intelligence uses algorithms to screen profiles for the areas concerned and creates increasingly smart and assertive filters. This is all done in real time and everyone involved has live access to all actions,” explains Mikiko Inoue, vice-president of Human Resources at Eurofarma.

The platform concentrates other processes, such as interviews, language, logic, Portuguese and math tests, among others, and the manager is able to follow up on all recruiting stages. Eurofarma employees are able to refer job openings to friends and the applicant can easily access them. “A new and structured digital hiring model is launched at Eurofarma by adopting artificial intelligence in these processes. For instance, we value the mobile experience, empowering candidates to monitor all steps while providing transparency to the process. This expands access to all openings and centralizes data, fostering new insights,” explains Marco Billi. He is the manager for M&A and Corporate Venture, the branch responsible for bringing disruptive innovations to the company.

The time required to complete hiring processes has also been reduced by 42%. “Our talent bank currently features over 28,000 registered applicants, so the platform provides assertiveness and transparency to everyone involved”, concludes Mikiko Inoue.
