With the number of entries exceeding expectations, the award enters the voting stage to select the top initiatives

São Paulo, March 2020 – With a total of 1655 entries, the Euro Innovation in Health Award – the largest award focused on medical innovation with a strong social impact in Brazil – reaches its final stages. The medical community can now vote on the 105 projects chosen by an independent jury, opting for the most innovative creations that can be implemented and that present effective or potentially verifiable results.

After registering on the award website, each professional can vote on up to 11 different initiatives, which will proceed to the final phase. These winners return for a second vote by the doctors who will choose the top initiative, also by a majority vote.

“Engagement by the medical community across Brazil was great and the total enrollment exceeded our expectations. These are interesting projects that reinforce the potential of professionals in the country to seek innovations focused on the health and well-being of our society,” comments Roberta Junqueira, Commercial Director at Eurofarma.

The purpose of the award is to recognize and offer incentives to doctors who develop innovative products and solutions to improve quality of life. Prizes distributions will total € 1,000,000.00 (one million euros), with 10 prizes corresponding to an amount in Brazilian reais of € 50,000.00 (fifty thousand euros) and a single prize to the top winner corresponding to an amount in Brazilian reais of € 500,000.00 (five hundred thousand euros). The amounts of the awards will be converted into Brazilian reais and will be subject to income tax withholding (IRRF), according to current legislation.
