São Paulo, November 2019 – Eurofarma, present in 20 countries and, among Brazilian pharmaceutical companies, the biggest investor in innovation, was elected as pharmaceutical-sector champion of Guia EXAME de Sustentabilidade for the fourth time, a ranking promoted by EXAME magazine and which recognizes companies’ actions in sustainability.

With this year’s achievement, Eurofarma is the only company in the sector to be four-time champion of the Guia, considered to be a benchmark throughout Brazil. The company achieved above-average scores on three of the ten key indicators: Water Management, Waste Management and Climate Change; its +Verde product line being a highlight in the Waste Management category.

The 20th edition of Guia EXAME de Sustentabilidade analyzed 210 companies, which answered the more than 160 questions prepared by the publication in partnership with ABC Associados, a consulting firm responsible for the process, together with graduates from the Corporate Rankings area of Fundação Getúlio Vergas’ Research Center for Sustainability. The questions were compiled by the journalistic team and evaluated by a deliberative council of experts who recognized the best companies in 19 sectors.

“Being recognized with such an award is an honor for all employees. We are the biggest investor in innovation and sustainability among pharmaceutical companies. These are two fundamental pillars for our future advance, conceiving cutting-edge actions and solutions that will make our company grow and expand. We always want to be one step ahead of regulations and in line with the best practices in the world,” says Maurizio Billi, president of Eurofarma.

Eurofarma was pharmaceutical-sector sustainability champion of Guia EXAME in 2013, 2015, 2018, and now, in 2019.
