Eurofarma is the exclusive sponsor of the Euro Innovation in Health Award

São Paulo, August 2019 – Eurofarma, present in 20 countries and the Brazilian pharmaceutical company that most invests in innovation, is the exclusively sponsor of the Euro Innovation in Health Award (Euro Inovação na Saúde), with the aim of recognizing the most innovative initiatives in Brazil, considering solutions, services and products that have contributed or that will contribute to people’s quality of life and well-being.

 

In total, the award will distribute 1 million euro, and submissions can be made until the second half of October 2019 through www.premioeuro.com.br.

 

The award is intended exclusively for medical doctors, with active registration at their respective regional councils, and not directly linked to Eurofarma. The submissions must demonstrate their innovative creations, planning and execution, as well as actual or potential proven results obtained across the Brazilian territory.

 

“It is an unprecedented initiative not only for our company, but also in Brazil, as well as being noble in its purposes. The aim of this award is to acknowledge innovative projects and stimulate new developments for the improvement of the health of Brazilians. We will distribute a total amount in reais corresponding to 1 million euro. It is the highest value ever offered at a health award in the country", said Roberta Junqueira, Chief Commercial Officer of Eurofarma.

 

Requirements – Doctors interested in participating may enroll in one or more initiatives that they have undertaken alone or with a group of doctors (Medical Society or Hospital). After the application period, an independent medical council nominated by different medical and health institutions in Brazil will select up to 100 projects.

 

Following the selection of the Medical Council, the finalist initiatives will be made available on the awards website for voting by the entire medical community. Each doctor can vote on up to 11 different initiatives, and the 11 most voted will be crowned winners of the Award. These 11 winners will return for a second vote by the doctors, who will choose the big winner, also by majority vote.

 

To vote, doctors must also have their records active with their respective regional councils.

 

The grand final event, to be held in March 2020, will unveil the big winner. Ten prizes will be given in the amount corresponding to fifty thousand euro (€50,000.00), plus a single prize to the big winner in the amount of five hundred thousand euro (€500,000.00), totaling an amount in reais corresponding to one million euro (€1,000,000.00). The amounts of the awards will be converted into reais and will be subject to Withholding Income Tax (IRRF), in accordance with the current legislation.
